Depending on the time of year you grace the shores of Placencia, you may experience any number of celebrations, such as the Sidewalk Arts Festivalevery February, Lobsterfest in June, Belize’s Independence Day from the UK in September, the festive Garifuna Settlement Re-enactment day in November, the Mayan calendar-inspired End of the World Marathon in December, and So Many More Celebrations! We’re pretty certain the Belizeans have a lot to teach the rest of the world about how to celebrate life overall.
Apart from celebrations, there are many unique and much-loved attractions in Placencia, Belize. River boat tours down the Monkey River will place you within view and earshot of highly vocal howler monkeys, and you can visit the Creole Village of Monkey River.
Most travel websites make special mention of swimming, diving or snorkeling with whale sharks, sea kayaking, deep sea fishing, and visiting the Laughing Bird Caye National Park.
